Last Night at Westfield Creative Arts we had four students at my acrylic painting class with each one painting a different picture. All progressed very well on their painting going at their own pace. Scenes below are two of the scenes that two of them, Alexandra and Carol used as reference material. Scott finished his version of a Hawaiian humpback whale and Gloria started a California seascape!
I used brushes and painting knives on this oil painting. It is entitled "Crane Pond Waterfall" and my perspective is viewing the falls through the overgrowth of trees and brush on the shore. It was very difficult to get an unobstructed view because of the trees and the deep ledge to the water. I used the knives on the leaves in the foreground.

I have 14 paintings on display and for sale at Mama Cakes on Elm Street in downtown Westfield, MA. Included are two acrylic paintings, one watercolor and the rest oil paintings. Also, I have a large rack of loose matted original watercolor paintings. They will be there for the rest of the month and three weeks into February. Stop by to check them out and have a coffee and delicious cupcake!
