Last night at Westfield Creative Arts I had six students at my Acrylic Painting Class with one brand new gentleman Jack who hadn't painted in five years. He finished an autumn scene with a barn in the two hours and did great! Also, Carol started a boat in harbor scene and Scott finished his roses in glass vase painting (from Edouard Manet). Three from the Carson Center were attending and painted their own paintings. Below are the photo references that they used for their paintings. The boat photo is my oil painting. All said that they had a great time!

For both my acrylic painting workshops this past weekend we used my photo from Keenebunkport, Maine sea coast as a reference for our lessons. Three students at the Hadley Michaels and two from the West Springfield Michaels love the picture and did great on their paintings! One was a mother Gwen who regularly brought her teenage daughter Grace and decided to give it a try herself. Also, an 83 year old lady Nancy who hasn't painted in 3 years wanted very much to do a seascape. She thoroughly enjoyed it!

We had five students at the Westfield Creative Arts in the Rinnova Building in Westfield yesterday for my Acrylic Painting Class. Two were from the Carson Center. Scott and Gloria worked on a flower painting using Manet's painting below as a reference. Gloria finished hers and it looked great! New student Lois finished her Hawaiian Sunset and did fantastic! Only her second lesson. To register for classes go to www.WestfieldCreativeArts.com. Four two hour sessions for only $80!

A couple of my photos of marine scenes that I plan on using for my acrylic painting lessons. Top is view of rocks and ocean near Kennebunkport, Maine and bottom is Motif #1, in Rockport, MA which is the most photographed scene in the US. It is easy to register for a class at either my two Michaels stores where I teach or at Westfield Creative Arts.
