Worked on an autumn scene from an old photo. Top image is a 6" x 6" on panel and the bottom scene is a larger 12" x 16" that is about half way through. I need to add the red/orange trees, tree trunks and branches and their reflections in the water. All oil on panel.

Last Tuesday at Westfield Creative Arts at my Acrylic Painting Class there were three students. Phyllis came back after being sick and continued to work on her atmospheric Edgartown Buildings. She has a very realistic style and doing a great job! Kathy completed an impressionistic winter brook landscape using the great painter Maulpurt as a source material from American Art Review magazine. She finished the painting in one session and did great! Gloria worked on her autumn landscape and is progressing. What a talented group! A new person visited, Natasha who is from Moscow, Russia and promised to sign up for lessons in January!

Last Friday there were four students at my Hadley Michaels Acrylic Painting Workshop. Kathryn worked on a Hawaiian seascape, Nolan painted a Hawaiian landscape with many waterfalls. Charlene finished her cardinal painting and Louie painted a whale breaching out of the water in Hawaii. It seems everybody is thinking of Hawaii!! I think everyone is tired of the New England winter!

Last night at my Acrylic Painting Class at Westfield Creative Scott worked on his interpretation of my oil painting pictured below. It is entitled "Mt. Tom Winter Brook". Scott is doing good and will probably finish his painting next week. I don't paint many snowy winter scenes and plan to do more in the future. I admire those "plein air" painters who dare the freezing cold and go outside to paint the winter scenes.

Last night at the West Springfield Michaels there were two students at my first Watercolor Class. We used my watercolor interpretation of the famous Childe Hassam's painting below. My students had a great time and completed their painting in the two hours time. I usually teach acrylic painting at my two Michaels stores but am certified for watercolor teaching as well.
