Last Friday there were two students at my Hadley Michaels Acrylic Painting workshop. Grace a regular student wanted to tackle a Vermont landscape. My completed version below. She started it but it will take a few sessions before she can finish it. Nolan, my 6 year student chose an Hawaiian landscape again as his subject . Both had a great time. Sunday, at my West Springfield Michaels workshop there were two sisters, 6 and 9 years old who painted a Colorado landscape with river. This was their first lesson and they said that they enjoyed it!
I used brushes and painting knives on this oil painting. It is entitled "Crane Pond Waterfall" and my perspective is viewing the falls through the overgrowth of trees and brush on the shore. It was very difficult to get an unobstructed view because of the trees and the deep ledge to the water. I used the knives on the leaves in the foreground.

I have 14 paintings on display and for sale at Mama Cakes on Elm Street in downtown Westfield, MA. Included are two acrylic paintings, one watercolor and the rest oil paintings. Also, I have a large rack of loose matted original watercolor paintings. They will be there for the rest of the month and three weeks into February. Stop by to check them out and have a coffee and delicious cupcake!
