I missed having a bad car accident Sunday on the way to teaching at Michaels when I swerved to miss a huge tire retread in the passenger lane on the Mass Pike. Fortunately I was able to keep control of my car by pulling hard into the breakdown lane! However, I messed up my right painting arm in so doing!! I must have pulled some shoulder and arm muscles so that there is a lot of pain in just lifting my right arm and it was hard to get any sleep last night. I shudder to think what would have happened if I hit the tire or the guard rail. Someone was watching over me!! I need to rest that arm and so painting will have to wait until it isn't so painful!
I used brushes and painting knives on this oil painting. It is entitled "Crane Pond Waterfall" and my perspective is viewing the falls through the overgrowth of trees and brush on the shore. It was very difficult to get an unobstructed view because of the trees and the deep ledge to the water. I used the knives on the leaves in the foreground.

I have 14 paintings on display and for sale at Mama Cakes on Elm Street in downtown Westfield, MA. Included are two acrylic paintings, one watercolor and the rest oil paintings. Also, I have a large rack of loose matted original watercolor paintings. They will be there for the rest of the month and three weeks into February. Stop by to check them out and have a coffee and delicious cupcake!
