Busy Weekend! I was in the Southwick Art Exhibition at the Southwick Town Hall for Friday, Saturday and Sunday. A lot of work setting up and then breaking down. Unfortunately I forgot to take photos but I had 12 framed paintings on the wall and there was a nice turn out for the artist reception Friday night (no sales). Saturday afternoon I was able to take advantage of the beautiful day and paint outside at the Westfield bridge as the photos below show. I will complete the painting in the studio and repost.

For April I have an art exhibit at the Southwick Public Library in Southwick, MA. Below are the oil paintings I have on display and they are available for viewing during regular library hours. The theme is "Oil Paintings- Texture and Color!!" They are all available for purchase. They are mostly garden scenes, flowers, and landscapes painted with thick textured oil paint!

What a great weekend for weather! Saturday I couldn't resist going outside to paint "plein air"! The picture shows my easel with my painting at the Westfield River near the new bridge. A fun time to spend a couple hours. At my home studio I will fine tune some of the details of the painting. Nothing like feeling the fresh air and seeing the light outside!
I just got an online art appraisal of this oil painting that was found by the side of the road in Westfield by my sister who gave it to me. Things people throw away! It is by Cape Cod artist Marilyn Schofield dated 89 or 80. It looks like a Cape Cod winter shore scene. It’s appraisal comes in as $200-$400. My wife Jean loved the painting and we framed it!
