3 of my 4 students last night at the Intermediate Acrylic Painting Class at Westfield Creative Arts with their paintings. Last night we used painting knives for the most part in painting this Maine seascape. Bottom picture is my plein air knife oil painting that they used as a reference for their paintings. All did fantastic!

Yesterday there were five students at my Beginning Acrylic Painting Class at the Westfield Creative Arts in the Rinnova building in downtown Westfield. We used the photo below of a Hampton Ponds autumn scene with water reflections as our source material. In two hours all five students did very well and those who didn't finish took home their photo copy to finish off the the painting at home. Next Monday we will paint a floral scene most likely using a Renoir or Monet painting of flowers as our reference. Check out www.westfieldcreativearts.com to see info about these classes.

This past Monday night we had our first beginner's class in acrylic painting at Westfield Creative Arts in the Rinnova building in Westfield. I was told that there were 3 sign ups but actually 6 showed up for the class. We used my oil painting of a Maine ocean with rocks below as source photo and I painted with them in a step by step process. Also, I helped each one individually so that each one had a finished painting when they left. All had a great time! Next Monday will be a landscape scene. Check www.westfieldcreativearts.com for info and to register.

I came upon an older oil painting that I painted over 15 years ago. Oil on canvas, 24” x 30”, painted with heavily textured oil. I call it “Covered Wooden Bridge, Stanley Park”.
