I had a great time Saturday afternoon painting outside (plein air) for the first time this year! I dressed well and wasn't affected by the cold at all! I made final edits in my studio the next day. This is the Tin Bridge in Westfield, painted in oil on a 12" x 16" canvas mounted panel. I plan on painting in the snow again! The snow shows many different colors with the atmospheric light reflected on it and makes a great subject! Also, I tried to capture the swift moving brook with its reflected colors!
I went through my stack of old paintings and found this one that I painted years ago (no date on the back). It is a very textured oil painting titled "Cape Cod Sunset" and is a 16" x 20" oil on canvas.
