I painted this oil painting en plein air or on location on a recent summer afternoon. This beautiful garden park is in its summer glory. I named it "Summer Glory, Grandmother's Garden". oil on canvas, 11" x 14". Also a photo while I was in process of painting it!

I just started a new group on facebook titled "Plein Air Painters of Western Massachusetts" after realizing that there wasn't such a group! There must be other artists in this area of the state that enjoy painting outside. Just a place to load plein air paintings and get support and help!

Another great afternoon in Grandmother's Garden! I painted this garden scene plein air or on location. The zig zag pathway is a design technique to lead one into the painting. I gave it the title "Grandmother's Garden Pathway". Oil on canvas panel, 11" x 14".

A slide show of some of my recent paintings. Most are oil and painted plein air or on location of local Westfield scenes. The images of the paintings can be purchased as prints or reproduced on coffee mugs, shower curtains and on many other items at my website at www.richard-nowak.pixels.com.

I had to cancel my plein air acrylic painting workshop Sunday because of the weather forecast. However, they were wrong and so I decided to paint by myself on the Westfield River Bridge to take advantage of the light.. The sky changed a lot during the two hours that I was there but I was able to paint a small 9" x 12" acrylic painting.
